This traditional service celebrates our spiritual roots recalling the 1600's when Oliver Cromwell banned Presbyterianism in Scotland under the penalty of death. The staunch Presbyterians therefore began to worship in secret. A bagpiper would stand at the top of a hill and play on Sunday mornings. His tune would let the Presbyterians know if it was safe to worship. If it was safe, the piper would lead them to the Kirk (Church).
