The Music Ministry provides an on-going program of worship opportunities and training for choirs and musical ensembles of all ages. From the Chancel Choir to musical experiences offered for four years old, a total of 6 choirs and music groups comprise the Music Ministry. In addition to their regular contributions to the worship services, the choirs present a full year of “extras.” Included are seasonal concerts and musicals, special outreach to the community of Jacksonville and beyond.

Organ Fundraiser

Vienna 2012

The Chancel Choir will be making a trip to Vienna, Austria November 22-26, 2012!   This Advent Concert Tour will offer a personalized tour of Vienna and multiple performance opportunities including singing at the Evening Mass at St. Peters Church.  There will be many fund raising opportunities over the coming months, to help support our fine choir.

Adult Chancel Choir

Our Chancel Choir has two “Advances” annually to further prepare and educate them in being a “worship leading choir.” Our Student Choir, Jubilation sings once monthly in our worship services as well as minister on summer singing and mission trips. From with-in Jubilation there is a group of young ladies, “Nothing but Treble” who are used in events outside of the church.

Hand Bell Choir

First Bells - is open to anyone senior high and up. Rehearsals are fun and energetic. The choir meets in the central balcony of the church sanctuary every Monday.

Adopt a Symphony Member

danamusicA new program at First Presbyterian. As stated earlier on this page, the Chancel Choir presents at least 3 special programs annually. The Adopt program is to help in securing players from the Jacksonville Symphony who will augment our own instrumentalists when these programs are presented. If you would like to adopt a player, it is $750 a year for each player. Perhaps a Sunday School class or other organizations of the church would like to do this as well as individuals.
