On Sunday, April 30 at 4:00 p.m. the First Presbyterian Chancel Choir will present “Saint Paul,” an oratorio.
Our own Chancel Choir, along with guest organist James Hollier from St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, will present the rarely performed masterpiece “Saint Paul,” an oratorio, by Felix Mendelssohn. Its three principal themes are the martyrdom of Saint Stephen, the conversion of Saint Paul, and subsequent career of Apostle Paul. The featured soloists will be Carole Banks, Tracy Davis, Samantha Lennon, Michael Palmisano, Zhenya Taidi, and Edwin Wolfe. James Houck will be featured as the Apostle Paul and Harrison Newton as Stephen.
It has been over 50 years since this amazing work has been presented in the Jacksonville and North Florida area. Please make plans to be present to hear this classical work and invite neighbors and friends to join you. The event is free; however a love offering will be taken at the presentation. Make your plans now to attend!
