What to expect

We invite you to join us in person or connect to our FaceBook livestream: https://www.facebook.com/FPCJAXFL/ for live service broadcasts. In person services begin at 10:30 for worship on Sundays. There are also Sunday School and small group discipleship opportunities before and after the worship service. We have Children's Church and a Nursery in FPC's Children's Center. You are welcome here!

At First Presbyterian Church, visitors are very important to us. We want you to feel welcome in our church home, even if you've never been to a church before! You will be neither singled out or pressured in any way, but welcomed into a place where all who want to learn more about Christ or who want to share their love for Jesus with others are welcome. We've listed a few things on these pages that will make your first visit (and hopefully many visits after that!) easier. If you have any questions about anything about our church in general, please give us a call at 904-354-8439. Feel free to connect with us virtually at our Face Book page to view live-stream worship services.

Sunday Morning Service Times

  • Worship: 10:30 am
  • Sunday School: 9:15 am

What to Expect

Our weekly worship service gathers at 10:30 am in our Sanctuary, a space rich with our church’s heritage and historic expressions of artistry. Stained glass, light-filled architecture, choral and organ music and a liturgical journey are part of how we illustrate our worship and celebrate God. Music during worship consists of both praise songs and traditional hymns.

What About the Kids

We have children's Sunday School, Children's church, and a nursery every Sunday for children ages birth through 5th grade. The nursery is open from 9:15am to 11:45am for both Sunday School and Worship service times. Older children will be dismissed to Children's Church from the Sanctuary service prior to the sermon.  Children's Sunday School and Children's Church are on-site only.  For details or questions,. please call the church office.

Where to Park

We are located at 118 E. Monroe St., Jacksonville, FL 32202

Parking downtown can be tricky during the week, but on the weekend you may park in our parking lot on the east side of the block, or in any of the parking lots that surround the church.  There is ample street parking, which is free on Sundays.  We have a Security team curbside each Sunday morning, available to help anyone who may need extra assistance getting into the building.

Vision

Lead the people of Jacksonville into a transforming relationship with Jesus Christ and into an authentic faith community.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Matthew 28:19-20 "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:35

Mission

Grow people into fully devoted spiritually mature followers of Christ. This will happen through learning, belonging, praying, worshiping, and serving. "He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ." Colossians 1:28

"He has shown you, 0 mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8

Values

A Jesus-Centered Church: Above all, we are a church that seeks to keep Jesus Christ at the center of all we do and say. In Christ we find our life, health, vision, and strength. 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20; Mark 12:30

Life Rooted In Scripture: We believe the Bible is God's Word to us and our basis for understanding who God is and how we are to live lives fully oriented around Him. Matthew 4:4; 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Relationships

Relationships Formed In Community: We value living lives in relationship with each other. We believe Christian community is a necessary context in which spiritual formation occurs. John 13:35; Hebrews 10:24-25

Missional Centrality: We believe that the Church was created by God and empowered by the Holy Spirit for the benefit of the entire world, including those not in the Church. We therefore value evangelism, missions of compassion, and working toward justice in word and deed. Micah 6:8; Ezekiel 36:26-27; Matthew 25:34-40; James 1:27
